Service Above Self

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve and be a member for over 20 Years in an international civic organization recognized for its motto of "Service Above Self."

To whom it may concern,

Although I am a resident of Charleston, not Folly Beach, leadership skills, character and personal ideals transcend geography and are vital characteristics of those whom we elect to serve as our public officials in any location.

I have had the privilege of knowing Skip Fink for 9 years, as fellow members of a civic organization. Skip is a person of integrity, and I have had multiple opportunities to witness his leadership skills, his ability to interact and work well with others, as well as his interest in community engagement and community service, including his personal participation in service projects giving back to our community.

His many years of dedicated service to our nation in the Marine Corps exemplify the ideal of service above self, and Skip has carried this ideal into his personal life, professional endeavors, and leadership roles. I have also noted his dedication to supporting veterans, and he has effectively served as the Veterans Committee Chair for our civic organization for many years.

Leadership, character, integrity, ability to communicate effectively and work with others, and dedicated service to the local community and beyond – these are traits we seek in our elected leaders. As such, it is a privilege to recommend Skip Fink as a candidate for Folly Beach City Council.
