I have received a few inquiries for clarity on my STR position. Over a year ago, Folly residents voted to pass a referendum to limit investment STRs to 800 and I support the outcome of the citizen vote. I supported the referendum as well as our Council’s current efforts to improve upon it via the amendment process, which should be settled before March 1st.

Everyone will not be totally satisfied, but that is a sign of any effective negotiation.

It’s been said, “Negotiation is not about making everyone happy, but about finding a middle ground where everyone can live with the outcome." – paraphrase P. Johnson.

As your councilman, I pledge to respect the outcome of the citizen vote, but to continue to monitor the STR ordinance, how it is working, and will work thoughtfully to pursue solutions that preserve and enhance the balance between all parties.

My campaign focus areas highlight other important ‘big picture’ issues facing Folly, which also deserve council’s attention.

Let’s press forward together.
